not really music related, but i don't care...

I am so amped right now because one of my favorite blogs just posted some photos of our house. I know this is not music related, but I just can't help it- I am psyched!!!!!!!!! Click at the top for a link to her blog, it's called design sponge. She gave our pal Ron Liberti a nice shout out too!

Recording Adventures!!!

We're recording the new record right now and it is very exciting! Our pal Dave Laney has been a huge huge help- loaning us gear, giving up his free time and being a good friend in general!!! So big thanks to Dave!! This recording process has been kind of guerilla style- Frank Heath was nice enough to let us use the Cat's Cradle for two days to do the drums, and then Lee and Adam Price did the bass parts at Dave's house. We had 6 string players over to our place to record, and they were amazing! Not only did they nail it, but we had to turn off the a/c since it was too loud, so they pounded through something like 8 hours of playing in about 106 degree heat. Such pros! Chris Eubank is a master- he arranged the string parts and they sound so wonderful. He has given 5 songs a new breath of life, and for that we are so grateful!! The string players are as follows:
Chris Eubank (Shark Quest, Spatula, Ugly Americans, Bicentennial Quarters, Physics of Meaning and ton of other great bands)-cello
Josh Starmer (The Old Ceremony)-cello
Alan Petermann (violin/soccer virtuoso)-violin
Bobby Britt (Big Fat Gap, Auxiliary House, Physics of Meaning)- violin
Mark Lebetkin (Nathan Oliver, Pox World Empire)- viola
Neel-Gopal Sharma (Auxiliary House, Physics of Meaning)- viola

Can't really say enough about how amazingly awesome and generous our friends are...Brian Paulson has loaned his time and gear, Jason Ross did all that and filmed too, Jesse Paddock gave up his time to come and film, Ash Bowie came and brought us a box of miracles- We are spoiled to have so many sweet people in our lives! Thank you Thank you to everyone who has helped us out so far!!!!

Last Saturday and The Flying Anvil Show

We just wanted to send out a huge thank you to our buddy Anthony for sitting in on bass on Saturday. The show at the Wetlands was so much fun and we owe him major ups for helping us out. Also we gotta give Justin Ainsley a huge shout out since he has left us for school in Seattle. We hate it, but good luck buddy! So sad to lose such a great guy and an amazing drummer. But hopefully he'll be back.

Also we're playing this Saturday, September 2nd at The Flying Anvil in Greensboro with Dawn Chorus, Erie Choir and John McLaughlin. Hope to see some buddies out there. If you haven't been to the club yet, it looks amazing and the owner Andrew is a great guy. It's highly recommended.

Dead Moon Documentary, Mon Nov. 28 at OCSC 9pm

I don't know if anybody reads these things, but if you do you should get your ass to Orange County Social Club on Monday November 28th to see "Unknown Passage: The Dead Moon Story." It's a documentary about the band Dead Moon, who if you've never heard or possibly don't even like, it really doesn't matter because you should come anyway. Their story is entirely inspirational, and they could teach us all a thing or two about living within our means. Plus, Fred and Toody are the most inspiring couple in rock n roll, and not in a make you want to throw up kind of way. More like, they'll kick your ass even though they are both grandparents. For those who don't know about their music, if you've ever been to Orange County, then you've heard them before.

Kate Fix and Jason Summers did a great job on this film, so you should definitely come check it out. It starts at 9pm.
For more info go to their website: www.magicumbrella.com

See you there.

Cd Release show at Wetlands

Thanks to everyone who made last night happen: Brian Paulson, Michael and Brighid, Ron Liberti, Everyone at Wetlands and all of our buddies who came out to support us!! Tenement Halls were great, but would you really expect anything less from Chris Lopez?? And Bringerer rocked the house. Man, Kevin Dixon really fills things out on that keyboard!

Anyway, we had such a fun show and wanted to send some love out to all of our peeps who take such good care of us! It took a long time to get this record out, so it feels pretty great to be on to new songs and adventures.

The cd should be in local stores tomorrow (11/19) if you didn't make it to the show last night.
